The lady who commissioned this wanted some very specific elements. She wanted this hill (who wouldn't? I think it belongs to a local composer, though), she wanted grey sky (the weather duly obliged) and she wanted sheep. Oops. No sheep this year (there were last year: http://amanda-bates-artist.blogspot.co.uk/2011/10/watership-down-with-sheep.html). And she wanted a 30 x 20" box canvas. No way was that going to fit on my sketching easel; time and outdoor warmth were also lacking, so this is a work from photographs. At least three.
