Trees and Seeds

Trees and Seeds

I like it! Can't easily do much drawing or painting just now because of arthritis in my perishing neck (which is why I'm up at 3.25am...) but it cheers me up to see something a bit different from a regular; I do like those muted but still lively greens - they capture the light of a particular time of day; could be early morning?

Definitely not a sketch Amanda but a very accomplished drawing, I love the composition with the hog weed seed heads in the foreground and the line of trees in the distance. How long did it take you?

Beautiful drawing.

I'm sorry to hear that you ar e suffering, Robert. The photographs that I used are a week old - I took a series last Wednesday walk - and it was probable about 10:15am on a lovely, bright October day. Christine - I don't know how long it took me, but I'm guessing 3 or 4 hours

I thought the seed heads might be cow parsley. No leaves visible in any of my pictures, so I don't know!

A super piece, Amanda. Beautifully executed.

Indeed. Very good. I have not done my drawing yet ....

Definitely not a sketch. This is - appropriately, as it is The Big Draw month - a drawing for drawing's sake, quite an involved one. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Blog post: http://amanda-bates-artist.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/trees-and-seeds.html ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Details: Derwent Coloursoft & Drawing on A3 Canson Raven paper
