In the Shelter of the Harbour, Coverack 40x30cm graphite & carbon
In this drawing of beautiful Coverack on The Lizard in southwest Cornwall, I tried to convey the sense of calm & shelter I felt when standing next to the dense harbour wall. The smaller boats seem slight & fragile but tethered to that sturdy wall they feel secure & protected. I enjoyed drawing the textures - the rough barnacle-covered walls, the battered wood of the boat in the foreground & the wet sand.
