You've been away too long - still following your Youtube demos, and I think you've got a video on here too. You've got real depth in this one, with your usual economy of means.

Lovely piece, Alan. I really like the swathe of light cutting across the painting, it's very effective.

Alan you've painted this landscape beautifully. It has super perspective and a clear vanishing point.

well I have been on a few forums that are talking of foregrounds in watercolours ,so I thought I would drop a quick small sketch here in my favorite gallery with a word or two on the subject .I have left a warm tract of grass in the background...and next just in front of the tree I have deliberately done the same ..this is important ! now right up front I have a dark swath of grass blended out with clear water .thing about this you have a warm patch then adaker patch and another dark patch among the one at the front .so are we not using the rule of three ..ok. so I have three rocks as well just over to the right of the cottages .
