Super darks! Not easy in water colour! Lovely atmospheric piece, Alan

I was testing myself ,,,,,it is very difficult indeed to do dark tonal values in watercolour,,,,I have not over painted but tried to get the tonal value right from the wells ,,I would suggest trying this as an exercise ,,,and I apologised to my group for this one, thank you Thalia for your so aware comment ,

Good range of tones here Alan. Nice to see you posting again.

A really great watercolour Alan - I do love the way you have achieved real darks which makes the lovely oranges and yellows stand out. Great style.

They're lovely rich darks, not dull darks, Alan. So it brings the whole scene to life. Lovely work, good to see you back.

Very dramatic Alan, with real depth in your darks.

Just found you today and will be joining your Patreon. I started to learn watercolour painting last year. I practice each and everyday as I love picking up my brushes and my paints and filling that white paper with luscious colour. My favourite colours being the many shades of greens which a why I like your work. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to following you, you are so inspiring,
