That is a cracker and I hope to try similar in July as I am booked on David Curtis's course in Staithes at that time.

Love this painting did you do this with david curtis

Derek Thanks for kind comments. Our local art group hired the studio facilities at Staithes Gallery for 4 days last year and I tutored the course, you are in for a treat. Josie I spend many hours on the Yorkshire coast drawing and painting. Although I admire the work of David Curtis I have not been on his courses Best wishes Alan

OOOh! How I admire people who can paint watercolours like this....... transparent colours and strong tonal contrasts ! How is it done?!

Lovely work, beautiful scene.

A beautiful painting. The composition is great and the reflections are wonderfully rendered.

A really clean, crisp watercolour. I like the reflections which are quite subtle and not over worked. I just wish I could achieve the same.

Many thanks for all your most generous and encouraging comments. Happy painting !! Alan

Lovely fresh sharp painting, brilliantly done.

Beautiful and a stunning gallery all round

Superb image and technique, fresh and evocative, rendering of a much captured scene

I don't know how I've missed your gallery up to now. I did comment on Winter in Whitby but must have been in a rush. I really love this bold style with the strong colours.
