Lovely lamp Alan. One could only imagine the stories it could tell!

Looks great Alan. Didn’t realise you could have them converted, I think my sister has my fathers lamp somewhere.

I read that as the miners lamp went out of use, They had to find a use for them as mines started to get electric lights, so they were adapted by putting the blue or red glass in, so they could not be seen from the air.

A great lamp to have Alan - very nicely done.

This is of a miners lamp with belonged to my grand parents, not sure if it was used in the mines, or just as a converted lamp to be used by the ARP in the Second World War, to mark bomb craters or gas leaks.
