In my opinion if there is soul in art then it is true. This image youve created is simply astonishing, on a par with anything ive seen from durer to grunewald to massachio. It reminds me of their work. It is amazing and you should be very proud of your achievement. The spectators seem to be observing not jesus but the man hammering in the nails almost as if they condone the action since they seem motionless.

I was deeply stirred myself by powells performance. It left an impression on me which lasts to this day. Im not religious. Im a free thinker, but going back to your art, you have captured the scene perfectly. Even the adoration of the magi by da vinci comes to mind when i look on your great work.

It took you a month to accomplish? Thats very admirable. I dash of pictures in one sitting then have the nerve to complain about the standard. Im not a great artist but i do know great art when i see it. You should keep this work safe. Its a masterpiece.

Super drawing skills displayed here Adam, reminds of old woodcuts. I suppose faith is an inward, mental thing, so cannot be drawn but the object of faith can be, as you have very well demonstrated here.

A powerful awe inspiring painting made even more so by your method of composing it.

amazing detail and incredible skill!

Hi adam. Thankyou for your kind comments on my picture. Im fascinated by your technique which is really a kind of pointillist method used by some of the impressionists. I'll have to try something like that myself. Interesting that some comments have pointed out the woodcut similarity which is why i named artists like durer in reference to your work.

Great drawing. I did a similar drawing in charcoal just after the programme years ago. I left it to a church in Basingstoke. I entered it for the RA Exhibition but it was rejected.

Great piece of art, Adam

An amazing piece of work Adam. Religious art isn’t so “fashionable “ these days, so respect to you for producing this, and for your patience and perseverance and absolute skill! I’m thinking that you must have faith to do this so very well. It has the look of something from centuries ago. Very impressive.

Brilliant work Adam, I too have employed this technique using a Rotring pen and understand totally why it took so long to complete - well worth the effort and patience.

I remember watching Robert Powell as Jesus Christ in the TV mini series called Jesus of Nazareth. I was so impressed by his performance that I felt compelled to do this drawing. It took me about a month to do. There is no straight line in the whole drawing. It is composed of dots using a 0.1 rotring pen.

About the Artist

What is Art? And how do you define it! Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. I guess my response to those comments, to show that we all have a dormant artist in us all. My retort, became my love and opened my eyes to the beauty that is all around us if we only take time to look. From the…
