I like it ;)

I think it turned out fine.

It looks very painterly Adele. I think it worked out pretty well!

At least you've got some nice controlled lines again Adele, and avoided the dreaded 'blobs' which I find so often happen when attempting these. (I know what you mean about the learning curve going both ways, though - they don't get any easier, do they?!)

Thank you Donna, Henry, Seok and Jenny. I agree Jenny, it doesn't get easier. Have got some of the relief ink that Alan Bickley uses on order and will see if they are any better. The reason why I put my prints or paintings on which don't turn out great, is to show that everybody has a starting point in their art journeys, and have works that just don't pan out the way we would wish. I like to encourage people who don't feel that one of their works is good enough to show. Hopefully people will follow my attempts at trying something new and know that we are not all great at everything we try. I hope also that they will see an improvement in my work as time goes by. If not, well we will all have a giggle together!

I like it Adele very effective indeed

Thank you Dermot - I enjoy it but have a long way to go which is part of the fun.

very well done Adele (where's The people?) ;)

Thanks Carole - they thought the church was going to fall down, so scarpered.

Lol Adele, I like your style....publish and be damned!lol You should see some of my first attempts, and yes I published!! I look forward to seeing the results when you receive your art supply's

Thanks Fiona. I don't think it hurts to show our attempts because it can help other people who are struggling. Besides, I think it's fun! Yes - DPD arrived with sirens blazing and brakes screeching today. So watch out, here I come!!

Well nobody can accuse me of being too proud to put this on. I've always said that "Practice Makes Perfect" but this definitely challenges that remark. Also I didn't realise that my other favourite expression of "It's a learning curve" meant that the curve can go both ways!! Oh dear. I think I just wasn't careful enough with the paint. Back to the printing board Adele.

About the Artist
Adele Elgood

When I was a young girl my parents had a large mirror which had an etching of a "crinoline lady" on. I would spend hours copying this. In the 1960's when I was at Secondary school, I was told to give up painting and drawing as I was useless and would never be any good. Following these words of…
