Thanks Nora and Jeannette- Nora, it is charcoal, the passages that look wash like are where I diluted the charcoal dust with water.

Really lovely, you get the hair just right.

Wonderful gallery - you've been very busy. Is it me or are your portraits getting looser as you progress? A real joy to see.

ThanksCarole! Yes you are right Alan, I think I have overworked some in the past, so I sometimes time myself and rescue the work from further destruction! Also it depends on what I really set out to do from the start.
