You've created a really beautiful painting Claire and your description of the process is really interesting. I feel inspired to have a go at using this method myself!

This Tiger was created by first painting watercolour paint all over the cold pressed paper. Randomly placing different colours everywhere. Then whilst the paint was still wet placing slightly crumpled plastic wrap over the top until it was almost dry, just to add a little more texture and interest. Then the tiger was lightly drawn over with watercolour pencils, highlighting the colours that were below it. I gradually built up the colour with the watercolour pencils and in the darkest tonal areas pen was used. White ink was used to create more detail.
