Hi PogArt it's an average figure the poachers kill for the Ivory. Just one a day is a catastrophe. This painting is a repost but I've put it back on to keep the message out there.

Beautifully painted, Chris. What a very sad situation!! Fortunately there are certain countries, such as Botswana, which are cracking down on this awful trade of ivory.

Such beautiful beasts and so vulnerable despite their size . A lovely painting of a superb animal and one of my favourite , such a horrific death just for a medicine etc that doesn't really work anyway .
