been away for a while as my previous account got trashed in the website shakeup - haven’t picked a brush up for months but last week, finally got started on John’s rather nice Mustang GT coupe. Got some good progress on it tonight and hope to continue this through the week. Anth
Good to see you back Anth, your patience never ceases to amaze me.,all those bricks ?  . Will look forward to seeing your Mustang progress.

This post has been removed as it violates our forum rules and guidelines.

Hi Sylvia! I was going to start with the bricks but then bottled it :) might have to bite the bullet on that one.
Personally I would add a wash and suggest the bricks in a few areas .  But it’s your pic and they are usually great so if you are going to become a “ brickie” well so be it.  Sorry I made my above comments twice.  I tried to delete one but I couldn’t.
Hmm..... I just removed your duplicate post, but didn't know it would say it had 'violated our forum rules and guidelines' ..... probably I should have left well alone! Painting every brick in that wall would be horribly labour-intensive, and I should be strongly inclined to follow Sylvia's advice - how about plastering it, and just showing a few bricks where the plaster cracked and fell off?   Somewhere or other, I have a drawing I did aeons ago, in which every brick in a building was lovingly delineated ..... that sort of thing would drive me mad now: strange how we change over the years.
Robert Are you allowed to say ‘labour intensive’ while you’re in electioneering mode?! Tessa
Glutton for punishment that I am, I’ll probably represent the wall pretty accurately - I’ll use the same method I did to paint tarmac on one of my older paintings I think. Sylvia, your idea of a wash will work, I may block the colour in then add the mortar afterwards. Get the car finished and see how it goes 😁
Bit more done on the Mustang! Rapid progress sponsored by Monster Ultra :)
Love the car.  I did a brick wall on one painting by using a small flat brush and "dabbing" it on for each brick.  Worked quite well!
That sounds like a good technique Steve - quite looking forward to starting the wall properly!
Looking good so far, Anth. I'll keep an eye open to see how it progresses. Always a treat. Bri
