A4 watercolour a stream running through the spring woodlands, love the spring woodland colour, mix of the left over autumn/ winter colours mixing with the new light colours. Where the sunlight is able to get through before all the leave are open and close it down to deep green shade the new growth looks almost yellow and unreal greens of so many different shades. I stated with a light pencil sketch to define the main features and started adding colours . This is a couple of stages in as I work on a few different paintings at a time I didn’t keep a strict record as I had not intended to share it as a work in progress.

And so into the next phase adding some more background and beginning to add details. It’s amazing how dark the under cutting along the can look due to the shadows it creates. Do ask any questions you might have about the process or why I do something a certain way , I’m always willing to explain why , why and how I do things.

Finished work , I had a bit of a struggle with the greens on the left foreground but I’m content with how it’s looking.
