Sorry infecting another one on you , a watercolour as usual and a marine scene as well ooh that’s not unusual either. I look the outline of a old tug from a very old b&w photo and did the same the the old cargo ship , my aim was to have the ship being towed to the ship breakers . Originally I had it set our to see with the cost behind it , but the chose to use a scene of Wapping in the 1950s thst I’ve adapted with a few additional buildings etc .  I then added some base colour to the sky thst I decided to have at sunrise.

Thank you Sylvia , no for a change it’s roughly based on the Thames at Wapping in the 1950s , with a bit of artistic license. Yes is the answer question I do love marine art , it’s the shapes and angles of the boats and ships especially the older ones as the modern container ships are far more streamlined.  It’s the derricks, funnels and all the cables etc  plus  the lifeboat but more than anything it’s the thought of those old ships sailing around the world with very different navigation systems and needing to stop of to top up the coal bunkers.  I suppose it’s the romantic view I had as  a child and never grown out off , the older the more dilapidated the more I like them then that probably due to me being in the same condition .  It’s easy not to notice beauty in old machines, buildings , trees  and yes even people as the fad is for the latest, brightest things

Love the lighting you have within the left part of the sky, Very atmospheric, you have also brought this through to the boat below it. If you can carry this atmosphere through the whole painting, it will be glorious.

Oh dear I changed the sky on the left as I thought it was too light, I did spend a couple of days thinking about it. This is nearly up to date I was getting irritate by the sky on the left and as I was walking past the painting getting ready to go out I  picked up the brush wet it and dabbed it in some week purple and blue then  just streaked it across the area .

I was responding to your second painting post. Its taking on a lovely twilight tone. Your sky is getting better, by that I mean dramatic, and also could add a little of the romance of a particular waterway era, its lovely, Dixie. 'on the waterfront' just a thought for a title.
