I was a bit scared off of donkeys after my last attempt, but I thought, what better way to get better at them than tackling them again. I think this one is going better, although I am not 100% happy about the negative space between them at the bottom on the canvas - will look at that again once it's finished. Lucy
Looking good so far - the negative space issue might, though it depends on how you position the donkey on the right, suggest a certain lack of body; I would forget about it for now, until you've finished the facial details, and then see how it looks.
Thanks Robert, the wet weather means that I can plough on for longer than I thought i'd be able to - the garden is going to have to wait for another day! Here's where I'm up to so far. Lucy
I love them Lucy - can't wait until finished!
Thanks Adele! They're finished and in the gallery, i'm Lucy Gilmore. Off to clean up now and have a bath to rest my aching back - I need to find a better painting position!
And a marvellous job you have done with them, they look brilliant in the gallery Lucy.
I saw this in the gallery - gorgeous work!
I reckon we should adopt Bert and Ernie as forum icons. Great success on the gallery forum. Love em.😆
Hahaha Wanderer, I am sure they would be only to happy to take on that mantle! Seriously though, there is some lovely work on the gallery at the moment, I just found myself marvelling at a portrait by Thomas Holmes which I think is especially beautiful.
