Have not started to paint this yet, but spent a few weeks in preparation. All the follows images show what has already been done a long while ago.
I am currently working on a St Francis of Assisi oil painting. When I finish this, I plan to paint this one, the Resurrection.
Primary concept: Imagine that the actual resurrection (restoration-revival) of Jesus Christ only took a blink of an eye. I want to find, by doing this painting, what may have happened within that very brief moment of time. A snap-shot image so-to-speak.
The painting will be done in oils.
The overall size is 160 x 110 cm.
It is a 3D painting in terms that the painting surface is not just 2D.
The chassis is Masonite sheets on wooden frame, including a polyester resin cast of a hand.
