My shaky hands but hopefully can ressurect this acrylic using cards on grey Pastel paper. Also hindered by very wet wet staywet palette after grand daughter's "mental" as she called it, experience with my freedom of the studio last week. Trying to find if Daler Rowney supply a pack of the reservois paper and waiting for answer as they only want to sell me a complete pack. Have tried several layers of kitchen towel but still sloppy paints. I got the shape of the RH cheese wrong and felt the only way I could save the work was to slap in a dark behind. This will work but now need to find a suitable object to add in, maybe just at that position. There will be a knife across the front on the plate - hopefully. Aiming for a 38 x 28cm piece
I fancy a bit of that cheese Derek. A knife would be plenty to add, I think.Re the stay wet palette reservoir I have found that the reservoir sheet gets very stained after a while and i just have to change it as it can be distracting. I have difficulty in judging the amount of water to add to the reservoir and too much underwater dilutes the acrylic if I am not careful....Persnally I would get the pack, you know you deserve it ! ....regards ..Syd
That cheese looks wonderful Derek.
Mmm nice. pass me the chutney D
Thanks Syd, Daler have said no, so will just have to get on with things. Buy a new refill complete as the kitchen roll is too absorbent. A bottle of wine or liquor is to be added.
Further messing and now more likely to be binned and restarted. The bottle is non-descript and spoils the whole thing. Happy with the knife. Then I added the blue to the lower area and that's not good. One or two specs of paint on the upper grey areas which is untidy. Then I thought shall I paint the upper grey area to blot those - now very undecided.....help
Rescue the bottle, rich red velvet back drop, "Nelson's last supper".. voila D lol.
Possible, thanks David. May leave the bottle as is and add the background in that colour.

That cheese looks good enough to eat, Derek. I would be quite tempted to lighten the blue under the cheese board, having a red background, I think would swamp the delicate colour of the cheeses. Look forward to seeing the finished article.
So you put your faith in cheeses? (If you don't get it... say it out loud)
D D thats AWFUL....are you a Scouser by any chance. ? Derek. Put it away for a day or so , turn it to the wall. then have another look and another think. Maybe the Lord himself will come to help you.
Thanks all - good stuff, now in 2 minds, bottle left in grapes stuff round front, or bottle and in a new background............oh there are others too. Now you've started something. Probably not today anyway, getting the Eriba caravan ready for the road and new adventures, plus need some things from art supplies before I go any further and can get local but that is next door to garden supplies, so wife will probably come and that slows everything down. Good new - tickets for Nigel Kennedy at Guildhall tonight after an Italian meal.
