Hi folks. Initial linework. I know centred and symmetrical compositions aren't expected to be as exciting or dramatic to look at, but the architecture of this town hall combined with a deliberately located old post box was just crying out to be a very centred drawing/painting.  Will develop the linework and share. Thanks
Can't seem to get the image to rotate, sorry. The original is upright, so gremlin's at it again.
Gerry it’s looking really good and I’m certainly looking forward to seeing the progress.
Allow me.
Allow me.

Thank you, kind sir
Getting the light ground plane organised, allowing some darks to begin...establishing the light direction
It's interestingly developing...
Coming along. Creating form whilst trying to ensure the background is not too strong.  (PS image quality affected, as its been reduced) .....
More progress. Using the two lightest tones (mainly), (white paper and light grey), for the main building, to keep it slightly distanced, has proved a challenge, but it's progressing nicely I think.
I like the way your art is progressing!
The finished piece. Even though the pillar box is actually a bright fresh 'pillar box red', I've toned it down somewhat to hopefully allow it to remain a star attraction but not out of balance with the whole composition. Comments welcomed as always. Thank you everyone.
I like that so much that if I saw it in an exhibition, I'd have a bit of trouble to not buy it - you could have shown the pillar box in p-box red, that's your artistic decision, and I suspect it was the right one.
