For this w.i.p I have used my own reference photo. The medium is Derivan liquid pencil - grey 9 and yellow. The yellow is very subtle. To start, I did a backwash mix of both, but only grey for the trees. This is Tuesday's start.

This is yesterday's work. Stippled in the shrubbery and started to darken the trees. The liquid pencil is re-wettable, handy when adding the sunlit areas.
It's coming along nicely Carol.
Looking really good.
Thankyou, Denise and Sandra. I'm enjoying the process of revealing the trees behind the froth of the canopy and undergrowth.
Added a bit more detail to this painting. I can see it needs a bit more darkness in places on the left. I like the effect of the liquid pencil yellow, it shows up lovely when lightened with water, very gently mind. I'll be using this medium again, it's been a learning curve for me on its use. I'm going to have to leave it at this (will go back to it) due to this lovely weather the harvest calls. I've placed the clips on as the page wouldn't lay flat.

Coming along beautifully Carol , thing do appear  to be suddenly ripening but of course your working on a bigger scale than my garden .
Thanks, Dixie. It's a medium not to be rushed, depending on the subject. I'll look at this another day. Yes, the grass has grown with gusto this year, the mower is on and there's only one thing that will stop us now, rain, which here in Wales we've had our fair share of since the end of the harvest last year. We live in hope and fingers crossed :)
