More slow progress on between my roofers demanding my attention.  Thank goodness, hubby is good at making tea!
Linda it is great, clever lady.
I think this is a super piece Linda.  I'm seeing a man who has just stepped into a room and has been engaged in conversation.  In other words, a very lively natural figure.   A cracker.
You've done a very good job of this, Linda. Well done that lady.
Looing really good Linda.
Excellent. I've enjoyed watching this painting progress. Looks like you've tamed the yellow, and I do love his expression. And the braids suit perfectly.
That looks about finished? Where will it go?
Wow, love it Linda!
The jacket in particular grabbed me, for some strange reason. Not sure whether it’s the vivid shadows or the depth you’ve achieved, but I like it a lot.

Your painting is looking really great, Linda, will it be the final submission or will you paint another version? The additional information on acrylics versus oils is very revealing though needs a lot of thinking about.. will be very helpful to others far more skilled than I am. Just wanted to say that your subject reminded me of someone stylish i.e. Law Roach a celebrity stylist..
I’m overwhelmed by all your positive comments.  I must be well on the way.  This will be the final submission.  I don’t think I could face doing the jacket again - there is just so much of it.  I love Law Roach’s velvet suit, Cordelia - I would have enjoyed painting that texture.   I will enter it into a couple of competitions and then give it to the subject.  He is a street dancer, teacher/youth worker and inspirational speaker.  He has also won the BBC unsung hero award for the South West, an award from a Roma Culture organisation and now in a Netflix pic.  It is hard to do him justice in one painting as he is not dancing in this image and does not have his usual grin either, but I don’t like teeth in paintings.
