I didn't get chance to do any painting yesterday but I've worked on this today and I am starting to feel a bit better about it. Still a lot to do though.

I am using the Zorn for the skin but she has deep blue eyes so I've added a touch of French Ultramarine with the flake white and a touch of the skin tones for the eye balls. The hair Burnt Sienna and Raw Umber but I haven't finished the hair or face yet. I'm not sure if I will put a jewelled earring in and I'm debating on a feather or a flower in the hair. Of course, I have the dress to do as well. I also need to lighten some of the chest area and bring it up to some of the tones in the face. Oh, yes, I need to fix that ear.

Well, I've been on it since about 9 this morning and I'm going to call it finished now. It is only a practice piece till I gain the experience. I've just sent it to her, I'm not expecting a good response, she is a modern Millie and I'm sure she won't like the style of it. Wish me luck.

What a lovely thread and what a great result Denise.  You put me to shame  I’m prevaricating and prevaricating over Bills pic.   I am not at all your suorised daughter likes it , praise indeed if anyone is honest is daughters with their mums.    Great.
