I haven’t had the opportunity to paint much in the last couple of days due to family commitments , just had a quarter hour so used it to put the base colours on the central barges . I decided to go quite bold with the main barge colour.
Looking great Paul, I. am enjoying seeing its progress!
Thank you Gillian , I do enjoy posting work in progress it makes me get on with the painting and think more about what I’m doing and why.
nowt wrong with not rushing things - taking  your time reduces stress, I find.  coming along well (having trouble with the shift key, among other things - might try taking the bandage off tomorrow - thank goodness the 1 thing i am careful about is always having a first aid kit topped  up).
The bold colours are looking good Paul.
Coming along well Paul.
Thank you Robert, Denise and George it’s nice to have encouragement as you plod along .  Just stsred to add a few details to the barges , I don’t want it to be a very detailed painting but enjoy to define he boats and some of the main features.
It's coming together really well.
a nice progress - super Paul. I love "bold" colors, they may come along with me gladly contrasting and with strong colors.
Thank you Peter and Tanja , I don’t do bold colours that often but I’m always pleased with the outcome when I do. Odd in a way that all those beautiful bright colours I like in nature but I tone them down when I paint them , sometimes I think the bright colours can look false/ wrong  in a painting. I’m the same with cloths if I wear a orange t-shirt I put a darker top over it , must be me age I’m old or as my granddaughter told me when she had her seventh birthday on Tuesday you not old grandad you very very old but not ancient, thank you for those lovely words I feel much younger now.

I have done a little bit more but as my hands are giving me trouble today not doing a great deal. I’m having to think about all those ropes in the rigging I used to use a rigger to paint them in but I’m not sure that I can be steady enough these days. I think it will be a case of rule and pencil to put them in initially then paint over , still it would look daft without them .
