Hello, so on my sketch the angel wave was much smaller, but as I painted I may have got carried away. I have yet to add Seagulls to the sky dominating from the wave. And a woman on a groin to the left.  What would you do from here?  Thank you Alicia

Looks like the answer is a big fat 'Dunno!' - and I'm not going to be of much (any?) help, because I'm not familiar with the concept of an 'angel wave', though I think you did indeed get just a touch carried away, if it's grown as you painted it (I've had that problem with trees in the past - started out with a modest sapling, that grew to the size of a redwood and obliterated everything else).  I have a rather literal, and exceedingly irreligious, mind - and I wouldn't have tried this in the first place, because I would think it imposes a concept on nature, rather than allowing it to develop FROM nature: which as advice at this stage is, I'm afraid, as useful to you as a chocolate teapot....

Bit like you Robert, I have no Idea.  I get the impression (may be because it's been suggested) that there seems to be something  like a person in the middle of the spray. If this is the case it might need to be made darker slightly. Don't think I can tell you what else to do.

I’ve also no idea what an angel wave is! Frankly, I’d scrap the idea Alicia, it just hasn’t worked!  The waves rolling in are rather good, damn good in fact, you don’t need that crescendo of rising water. Definitely get rid of the yellows, and soften the horizon line so that it almost becomes invisible. A small silhouette of a figure will work okay. Sorry to be blunt, but I’m taking no prisoners today, and you did ask!

Thank you For the advice. Yes Robert I have a forever growing tree. So I've embraced the angel and the fact that I'm loosing reality, so here goes. I'm still struggling with the wave foreground.  I agree who ever said about softening the horizon, I will do that in due course.  I still have an old pier and a woman to add. Thus is a commission, so it feels out of my control a bit. After this I'm going to do a simple seascape. I am learning, so all is good.  Alicia
