!Thank you Diane, I d made a little more progress today but taking my time due to the  heat it was lovely and cool earlier but getting very hot again. Starting to build up the  background and adding some  . It looks a bit dull in the photo as it’s taken in the shade , much more vibrant  will try to get the next photo in better light.

I have digressed a little as I was inspired by the Rainbow Eucalyptus trees the bark and the colours are just amazing, I’m working on a close up version of the bark it’s almost abstract, this is what I’ve done so far .
Good idea to tackle this as well - a pair of paintings, sitting alongside each other?
There are two more out of sight as well , just doing little bits now and then when it’s cool enough, these two are taking priority at the moment.
What I like best is the wonderful range of neutrals and dark on the trunks.
I’ve done a little more this morning, just need to work on the right hand tree in the foreground and I think I will call it done , risk of doing to much on this and overworking it .
You certainly could  overwork it at this stage - you know you've reached a further platform of  expertise when you get to really know that, even though I think an occasional  "fiddle" can make a beneficial difference. But I agree you're just about done here, and produced an effective painting of this really rather difficult subject.
Thanks Robert , just about to post it on the gallery .
Lovely work Paul.
