I have left you in peace for long enough, it time to post another WIP this one if of gum trees along the bank of a river in NSW . I have long admired the look of these amazing trees, all those colours as the bark peels off and the scars fron old branches than have died back sometimes leaving dead branches that are twisted into odd looking shapes.  Original sketch and base colours done earlier in the week , finding it hard to work due to the heat but I’m not the only one. Next stage was to add some colours to the trees and start to define there shapes.
With Sarah, Phil, Ellen, Rose the dentist, and the granddaughter whose name I forget.

So!  You're imposing on  us again, eh?  Good: keep doing  so; it's always worth seeing the variation in your work  - I like variety, and the fact that you won't be contained by any single category.

Thanks Robert , I did a bit more this afternoon before someone lite the furnace and made it to hot to paint. Just started to bring out some more of the colours and using them to shape the tree , I’m really enjoying this piece well so far that is .

Thank you Sandra , it’s  been far to hot to do a much of anything let alone painting in watercolour but I needed to do some painting as I was getting restless and withdrawal symptoms. Feel better now I had a bit of time sorting out a few bits in my  studio and putting a bit of colour on this painting. I was looking at gum trees on line some of the colours are amazing but then I came across the Rainbow Eucalyptus tree , natures work of art looked like it threw a paint pot at this trees as it didn’t know what colour to use l. My painting  Nature’s phenomenal art.

You couldn't really invent a tree like that, could you?  Quite incredible.  And I like your open, fresh painting.  It is too hot for any serious painting - I've just been fiddling with a few sketches, and zhooshing up a rather dull watercolour: my recommendation is - plenty of water (to drink, and to paint with), draw the curtains by day, open them at night; live on the coast, and in an old stone house - although I realize the last two options aren't open to everyone.  I once lived in Newport, Isle of Wight: a pretty grim town in parts, and incredibly hot right now - its location and height above sea-level making  it an oven.  So if anyone's planning to settle on the island - don't choose Newport....

Thank you Robert and Sandra . Those trees are gorgeous I was wondering what the early settlers in Australia made of them , I can imagine some of the very religious ones believing that they had found part of the Garden of Eden.  The person who captured then in a painting must have had a hard time persuading people that they are genuine and no he wasn’t hallucinating at the time . I working for very short periods as the heat is playing havoc with the drying process, wetting a small area at a time to work , no good having the paint watery as you then need several coats to get a decent looking finish . Might get a little more work done later when my workspace is n the shade , usually about three thirty or so . This morning’s effort, not a great deal but it’s progressing and that’s better than not doing anything.
