Thanks Fiona and Gillian, ref photo is from one of my daughter's, but I've ditched it now so colours are made up.
Thank you Alan for your comments, I really appreciate them, will just take my time with it, working on some of the foreground now, there was a lot of pebbles in the photo so I'm working out best way to paint them without going into too much detail, will post next stage with a close up.
Thank you Denise, I really appreciate your comments 😀

Really nice. Now here's an off the wall comment but don't shoot me please :)
When I first saw it, the shape on the right hand side made me think of the ears of a large hare seen from behind looking out at the water. Now I know that won't have been your intention but the more I think of it the more I think it would make an unusual but very interesting painting!

Hi Linda, the right hand side is an old tree, I have altered the pebbles along the front edge, I wasn't happy with the way it was going although it doesn't look too bad on image no1, decided too bring the water further down to left corner, image no2. I am happy with background mountains, not going to add anything else there, more work to do on foreground and will leave tree till last.
