Love your palette Linda, and that faded out area middle left between water and land. Looking good!

Hi Linda, my first thought was what beautiful colours, no mistaking the Highlands !  Look forward to the progress. I have never used oils myself.
Well now Linda, this is all taking shape rather well at this stage! Just keep progressing like this and let’s have a look at the next stage, I’m not seeing anything obvious here that needs attention, which is unusual for me!
Not that I have much experience Linda but I think when it’s finished it will look amazing.
Thanks Fiona and Gillian, ref photo is from one of my daughter's, but I've ditched it now so colours are made up. Thank you Alan for your comments, I really appreciate them, will just take my time with it, working on some of the foreground now, there was a lot of pebbles in the photo so I'm working out best way to paint them without going into too much detail, will post next stage with a close up.  Thank you Denise, I really appreciate your comments 😀
Looking good so far Linda, with a nice palette. You have covered the whole surface which is a good start Look forward to seeing progress.
Really nice.  Now here's an off the wall comment but don't shoot me please :) When I first saw it, the shape on the right hand side made me think of the ears of a large hare seen from behind looking out at the water.  Now I know that won't have been your intention but the more I think of it the more I think it would make an unusual but very interesting painting!
Thanks Tessa, didn't want to make the same mistake as last time when I left the dreaded cottage blank!! Steve, I can see that Hare now you have pointed it out, no its going to be a dead tree with fallen branches!!! but it did make me laugh!!!
Hi Linda,  I’m waiting to see what happens with the bottom right hand corner.  Is it a fisherman or a tree?  Beautiful colours!
Hi Linda, the right hand side is an old tree, I have altered the pebbles along the front edge, I wasn't happy with the way it was going although it doesn't look too bad on image no1, decided too bring the water further down to left corner, image no2. I am happy with background mountains, not going to add anything else there, more work to do on foreground and will leave tree till last.
Happier with the pebbles now !!
