I've started a portrait today which I'm hoping to partially obscure later with an acrylic pour. I thought I'd combine experiments. I thought I'd try using an oil painting method with acrylics. If its been done before my apologies I haven't come across it. I used a wipe off method. I used isopropyl alcohol to try to get the same effect as oil and turps. The first wipe took off my pencil marks, brilliant LOL. Make a note of that isopropyl removes pencil too. That's something new I've learnt today. Painted in my marks instead, bit out here and there with the likeness but what the heck. The model is from Pose Space, I asked before If it was okay to show part of the image like this and they said it was fine.
My daughter has asked to have this as it is, so it's gone. I'll have to start again.
Wonderful work on your portrait experiment!
I do appreciate if people do experimenting, trying things, learning on errors... I believe, that at every single try we learn something, so it's never a wasting of time, but opposite. Good for you! I'm waiting for more 😉
A beautiful tender portrait, Collette.
Try again. This time, slightly different angle. I've just put the colour straight on. I haven't bothered with finishing off away from the face as hopefully will be hidden by pour. Sent for some of goldens isolation medium. I'm going to put a coat on before doing the pour  so I can take part of the pour off without damaging this bit, but hey ho we will see. Hoping I can gently fade the pore back but no idea if it will work at all.

Thanks Sylvia. It'll be at least 5 days until isolation medium arrives from Jacksons. I'm painting more peonies to keep me going.
That’s a superb portrait Collette.
Really impressive work Collette, I'd take my hat off to you if I was wearing one!
Thanks Paul & Peter.
I think this attempt is looking even better... I do enjoy it a lot.
