The decision was whether or not to add colour?  I think both of your drawings work, so - decisions, decisions, just opt for all of them.

That’s a good drawing, in my book anyway… I don’t think it needs colour, in fact I’m positive it doesn’t! A couple of Payne’s grey or neutral tint washes to emphasise the 3D and those all important shadows… which can almost be 90% black.
