The colours you used for the roughing-in should be OK, plus a bit of white to make them opaque, and maybe a bit of yellow ochre.
Thanks Robert, I think I may have poorly described the colour of the combat cloth Casper is sitting on, as someone at the painting club suggested much the same as yourself. It is a mixture of dirty, grey greens used for camouflage.
Dirty grey-greens - viridian and a bit of burnt sienna and or burnt or raw umber, plus a touch of raw sienna?   Are you intending to paint it as camo-cloth, or just that sort of overall colour?  I think you've posted it on the gallery now, though, unless I'm seeing things...........
