It’s based on a black and white photograph of Claude Muncaster . I’ve made a couple of changes to the background and as I’m not a portrait painter or very good at doing a likeness it won’t  be a him but a representation.  I did a painting a few years ago from a photo of me painting a boat added a beard as the face looked more like an ape , but them there was a likeness to me .  I’m really enjoying doing it and as I’ve studied his work recently I feel a link to the photo , I came across the photo and suddenly thought I want to paint that a very rare thing for me .

I have done a bit more this afternoon, almost completed the sails on the boats are base colours only. I shan’t post any more now untill it’s completely finished then I  will post it on the gallery first , and one to closed this thread .

It certainly is , a d quite heady when it suddenly comes along. Not much more to do now , hope to get it finished today if I get the opportunity.

Lovely work, Dixie. Its only when I viewed this in the gallery I noticed the chap fishing, nice touch, made me smile.

Think the above comment is possibly AI as it the second reference to paint by number and the paint by number is highlighted and let’s to a website Pets by numbers. Will leave it for now and check with fellow moderators. I have removed the above post as it’s considered to be AI and similar to the other one I removed yesterday.
