I've made a start.........yippee aye yay. It's nearly 12 months so I thought I'd better give myself a talking to. Not so much of a painting more of a drawing with a brush. It's acrylic. I've got a strange knuckle on one hand but overall I'm happy considering I'm so rusty. Don't know what I'm going to do with this next. I thought I'd partially obscure her somehow. Decided just to start and not worry about the outcome. Showed it to my husband and I said I'll probably put something over her. Clothes? he replied.
Great comeback start Collette ....onwards and upwards.Yes that is a very husband type comment
Excellent painting Collette, leave it as it is and start another.
Great! I think I’d do what Paul suggests, you can always come back to it.
Really well done Collette. It’s so hard when you stop for a while. Your husband’s comment made me smile!
Yes well done Collette!
I will do as Paul suggested and start another. I've always finished one before starting another, it seems strange to move on and come back later. Clearly though I need to do something differently, so I'll try it. Got to get out of this slump. Thanks everyone x

I didn't know you've stopped painting for this long Collette, and I remember myself when had been upset with commissioned art outcome (happened twice) and I couldn't get back to it afterwards... I'm very happy looking at your painting now (not because I'm a man, lol, lol, lol), but because it's really well done figure study! The 3D effect, shadows, lights... It is impressive! I wish you stay at your creativity mood from now on, and please never stop, because you've got great talent and skills to support it!
A very good start to your newfound gusto, Collette.
Pog: I think that's what started it for me. I painted a dog for a work colleague. Some time later I found out that his wife hated the painting and that it had caused a row between them. Someone videoed his young daughter doing a mock critique, she called it old fashioned and scummy. He put the video on facebook. I felt humiliated and really sad. I stopped painting commissions. It also made me question everything I was doing. I didn't paint for a few months then I started again, I felt things were going well. Then several close relatives became very ill at the same time and everything went pear shaped. It all just compounded.  Thank you for your kind comment x
Oh Collette I can so relate to what you say....Life can be a bitch.   So can people...go girl.
