I recently bought a Pilot G-2 pen for drawing prior to using watercolour washes. Despite being advertised as archival there is no way the ink in this pen is waterproof it bleeds horribly. Can someone recommend a pen which has waterproof ink to save me having to take a dip pen and indian ink bottle out sketching. It needs to have a fine point and ideally retractable.
The best waterproof pen on the market for my money is the Edding 1800 or Edding 1880, both are brilliant and come in a range of points to suit all needs. These pens are genuinely waterproof, I have been using them for dozens of years without a single issue. It isn't retractable but that shouldn't be an issue, never has been for me.
You are so right Alan - Eddings best !!
