As Robert has already said, Lois Davidson I find very good and I like her style very much. I was given very similar advice as a lot of the others here have given you. Find one artist, buy quality equipment then start doing whatever it is you want/feel. Don't throw anything away as everything is a step forward be it good or bad. Im very much like yourself, hence why I'm here to learn more and hopefully progress without feeling I have to produce the "masterpiece" each and every time I paint.
