It's a long time since I've used Langton and was never dissappointed with it for a budget paper. So why don't I use it now? Well I don't use beginners blocks and spiral bound pads as they don't come above 140 lbs and also I much prefer to cut to my own preferred size. As for their sheets they never seemed to do anything above 140 lbs which is far too flimsy for me - not sure if that's still the case.
The main reason I prefer 200 lb and above (apart from the obvious that it more easily accomodates wet washes without buckling) is that I like to work on the paper without it being fixed down. That way I can move the paper around without any restricions to accomodate free flowing washes and to work on smaller detail - not so easy with lighter paper.
