Tanja, my sketch is of the radio/tv mast at Winter hill, and the post is Scotsman's stump, a monument to mark the place a man was shot and killed long ago.
I hope this thread has motivated you to start up again and add text to your work, your write-up to Tanja is interesting, Jim.

ah, thank you for the explanation:) oh, how sad, i've reading now the story about George Henderson.
Jim the mast at Winters hill, wow that's a blast from the past. It stands  1000ft above the surrounding country side, as as a younger version of my self I used to climb up there to install antennas.

I'll try to contribute something from time to time Carol. The good thing about journals are that there are no rules so I tend to put crazy things in, like my love of Omar Khayyam's Rubaiyat. Here are two examples of my nonsense. :(-: .

Tells you how long ago I did it Alan. ]Rather you than me up there...(-:
used to take 30 mins to climb vertically, up to 700ft mark were we used to work. this is all pre health and safety, we only wore a belt to hold our tools on, and to keep our trousers up. a far cry from how I ended up on my last climb there. spanners tied to the belt by 2 meter lanyards, 2 points of attachment when climbing the ladder,. full boady harness.
A nice bit of nonsense, Jim, work such as this is great to see and read. I'll be posting my efforts into the gallery, just incase this thread disappears from the forum. There's every chance of that :) Look forward to seeing your work. Alan, I have no doubt that your active working life has help you keep your body strong as time goes by. Both Jim, and you have shared humor, love it, especially the bit about keeping your trousers up :)
Oh i've seen your first page of journaling, wonderful how you paint the vegetables with saucepan! I really love it! I also did some journaling today, see my gallery :)
Thanks, Tanja, I'll pop in and have a look.
