the Ron Ranson style is popular,using the hake and cheap paper and paints ,even paints bought from wilkinson stores , is popular .... .,,should you use the other side ,or throw it away .??., I found if the paper had been used and a hair drier had been used ,and it had stretched ,,,,,,,,the unpainted side did not buckle so much , also cheap paper painted with a coat of PVA ,,,,,is ok to paint on with acrylics ,though I laughed when my friend said an acrylic painting he had sold started to shale off when he rolled it to fit in a tube ,to post to a sale. c u for now
SAA do very good packs of what is described as "Practice paper" as a decent price.
I also bought the SAA practice paper and it was absolutely awful, another thing added to my learning curve.
