Hang on Studio Wall

For better or for worse, we installed picture rail in my studio. It has its advantages, but large canvases can be a bit awkward to get up (straightening them without dislodging the hook) and down (whoops, there goes the hook again). Wht I want to know is, can you buy special hooks you can screw to the picture frame that will hook over the moulding? What do you call them? I found some "antique" examples on eBay (bidding underway), but surely these aren't unique... While I am sure it is possible to make something, I'd be wary of metal I'd bent to shape coming unbent in use...
Hello Amanda, I have found a supplier offering self locking hooks http://www.picturehangingsystems.co.uk/ but I have often used the screw type myself. There is a London based firm who seem to offer something suitable. http://www.picturehanging.co.uk/

Hopefully Amanda I shall post some pics to show a method a few of us used in an open studio up here in the hills....... Picture rail .... traditional brass/ metal hook over.... hook on a piece of chain with an S shaped hook ....use varying lengths of chain to sut pic soze. ...anothe S shaped hook at back of pick hung onto chain. depending on size one or more painting above/ below one another. I was doubtful about this , but it looked good. A bit fiddly putting up but allowed for lots of flexibility . A two person job unless the paintings are very small.
