Both good suggestions - Zinc white, diluted of course, should do it: you may have more of a problem with Titanium, which is much more opaque. Or maybe ... a couple of coats of acrylic medium, with perhaps a very small quantity of Zinc white - experiment on bits of card or paper obviously, you don't want to go trying any of these things on the actual collage until you've a good idea it will work. And actually, on the whole I think Alan's idea is probably the better way to go.
