Hi everyone Joined this site this evening as I was feeling nostalgic about my old Art College Days late 70' early 80's specifically. Any body still alive who remembers the S.I.A.D

My college years were a decade before yours, I’m not sure what SIAD is… I was on a DipAD course, they were great years!

Well I'm in my 60's now.....perhaps I'm just feeling old 😆 I might have a few pieces to display.....nothing recent though

Thanks Roib, I thought it was but wasn’t sure that it was a college degree course! Many on my DipAD course eventually went into teaching, certainly made some great lifelong friends during those years.

Actually the S.I.A.D is not a qualification in itself, it's a membership. You send off 10 - 15 pieces of work and pay a fee for them to be accessed and looked at by a group of artists  and the like, hand picks from the industry .......if they like, then you're in.  The catch is ....you then pay them an annual fee of £50 or so, and that entitles you to put S.i.A.D after your name ...... for as long as you keep paying them the annual fee.  Been looking at your gallery Alan.....lovely works
