Really pleased to hear that things are on the up regarding your eye op. Robert. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
In reply to your question, no I don't contribute to any on-line poetry sites. I have tried many times to try and find something suitable but so far without any luck. I guess POL spoils us somewhat and raises expectations. I have two quite large volumes of work: 'Painting With Words' which is the more serious stuff and 'Sketching With Words' which contains more light hearted pieces.
My more serious work is greatly influenced by Thos Hardy whose books I just love and are a great inspiration; I'm currently reading Dickens - great stuff but not so lyrical in his writing - in fact downright gloomy.
Now how is this for getting away from the topic - I'd better shut up !!

Back on topic again and my January edition of Artists & Illustrators has just dropped through the letterbox.
Towards the back an artist by the name of Graham Burge from Cheltenham has taken the bold decision to promote himself with a quarter page advert, five thumbnail size paintings and a mug shot of himself with some text telling us that he is looking for a market and that commissions are welcome. So good luck on that one Graham, an expensive gamble, my estimate would be 1K for that size advert ( possibly a bit lower), but we will never know if it worked or not so I'll give it a miss.
Could this be the answer that you are looking for Robert?...

,,I have a very slick add from a young lady advertising watercolour lessons by post ,,(not free) she is running her add at the opening of some of my videos ,
the add is a goggle placed add , she has paid for ,and is very good indeed ,when you think how many views I get for my videos she cant loose ,
, I can remove piggy backing adds and links from comments ,but this is an official paid for google advertisement ,,,,
,but money talks ,and chasing fame is the game today , and if you have the cash it helps, personally I would feel a little bit of a cheat doing it

I totally agree Robert, but of course we could be wrong, this chap may pull in some work and sales but I wouldn't hold my breath, good luck to him for giving it a shot anyway but it's not really the way to go forward, Dermot had some good advice but you still need that element of luck on your side to pull all that lot off.
