I've used pastel pencils, Conte crayon and oil pastels, avoiding soft pastel because I have a very dry skin and asthma. However, someone, sometime, bought me a box of twelve Reeves pastels and I'm trying them out to see what physical effects they have. I have some Christmas and birthday money to spend and if the experimenting with the Reeves works out from both an artistic and physical point of view, I might just indulge in some. Hence the questions: >>> What make(s) of soft pastels do you use? >>> Are they hard / soft / middling? >>> Have you tried any that you didn't like? Why didn't you like them? BTW there are some results of my experiments with oil pastel and pastel pencils in my portfolio. Comments welcome.
