Sylvia suggested that perhaps not everyone had seen Ruth Dolan's tribute to Thea Cable, on the gallery a little while ago, and wondered if I might say something. Thea sadly died, after a debilitating brain illness, recently: heroically, she continued to paint one-handed for as long as she could, and posted those pictures here on the Gallery. This painting, one of my favourites of hers, was posted in, I think, 2015 - before she became ill. Inspired by the watercolourist Charles Reid, of whom Thea was a great fan and with whom she studied, it's Thea Cable at her best, I think.
Poor Thea she will be sadly missed . Agreat artist and a nice lady
I didn't know that. So sad.... Thea certainly will be missed. I very much liked her colourful paintings. She always was so optimistic. Thanks Robert for letting us know.
A sad loss indeed - I had many discussions with her and she will be so sadly missed.
R.I.P Thea. A brave and talented lady.
Beautiful. A rare talent lost, RIP Thea.
Didn't know Thea had died. Very sad news, she was a talented lady who was a generous contributor to this website. R.I.P.

Very sorry to hear this very sad news.
So very sad to hear that Thea has died. She was such a talented artist and an inspiration to the water colourists on this website. Sarah B
