Some.sort of registration prior to posting barrier..?
You're right - it's getting annoying when a new member bombards the site with lots of irrelevant adverts.
Mindless half-wits but either Robert or Dawn will sort it shortly I'm sure.
I've got something to post but I'll leave it a while - Where is Robert?, has anyone contacted him? I haven't as yet...
After this attack, perhaps it is time to look at things, the worst one yet since I joined just over a couple of years ago. Infuriating and it ruins everything, we were just getting a lively forum up and running again after a lull. I've cut some reed pens and want to show them, no artwork as yet, I'm still playing around with ideas and techniques. These idiots are depriving you all of seeing these pens, tragic or what!. Good, I see they've been removed. No, more filtering through.

They're still online - still posting. I agree that we need a system of registration that makes this sort of attack more difficult - especially after removing (so far) around a hundred of them. I'm afraid they regard this forum as a sitting duck; and, well - it is....
Good work Robert, don't go away.
Thanks Robert! I am having to work from home currently (joys of country living!) so I haven't been seeing the spam reports coming in. I will be keeping an eye out though, and future upgrades will try taking this into account!
I can think of suitable words for them - oh, as John Major might have said, yes! Most unsatisfactory..... I can also think of a suitable fate for them - it involves oil, raised to the highest of high temperatures. But there we are; perhaps they'll get a new hobby..
I think the point's been taken, David - I certainly hope it has; I think we'll see an upgrade before we're much older. A possible virtue of today's mass attack is that members who might have cavilled at a more severe registration process before will (surely) see the need for it now.
Just want to thank Robert and Dawn for sterling work that shouldn't be necessary if we lived in an ideal world, and I for one would certainly be very supportive of a strict registration process. Sounds like that may be coming. I would also be supportive of Robert's solution to these a***holes!
