After Patchings I asked POL if they could give some sort of explanation just what judges looked for when judging such a competition and why critiques were never given. Obviously when a panel judges it's not always possible for them to agree on the particular merits of a painting and art is so subjective that each judge's criteria are different. However in Editor's welcome this month in the Artist there is a very explanatory section by David Curtis; one of the Patchings judging panel on what he looks for when judging. Thank you POL.
