Sorry guys been out most of the morning sounds like a bad run of the low life . I was chatting to a young man who is into IT and he told me it’s very widespread at the moment a DIY site he uses it totally unusable at the moment. I explained about volunteer moderators he thought they didn’t have them so no one was zapping .

The problem we face is that the people who post the spam aren’t the people selling the product , the are using so called professional spammers. All these people need is a good PC and software then they are up and running and open for business .
As I have said before most work from countries where there is little or no regulations however not exclusively as we know from past news stories. Some are able to upload hundreds pre writing spam messages to a site I’m minutes. Not that condone spamming but if you live in extremely poor country it a way of making money. The risks of actually getting caught is very low so the risk is worth it to them , might get a fine and told off etc but little else also the chance that some government would employ you to do their propaganda etc.
Just keep reporting and we will try to keep up with the spam.

One quick and (I’m told) simple deterrent would be to disable pasting into forms. This would allow people to write comments, but prevent the quick pasting of lots of text and pictures into the reply form. I am not sure if this would have an impact on uploaded images, but it might be worth mentioning to the techies . Just a thought.
