I enter the competitions on POL but the results never seem available…….
They're shown on the Gallery, and in the magazine, aren't they?    Not sure about that..... I don't enter competitions  - sheer laziness on my part.   Or .......  FEAR.......!
A lot of the competitions are just filling in an answer…..pot luck if your name comes out of the hat. Previously we could find out who won something, now it’s a mystery.
I haven't entered any competitions on POL lately and couldn't figure out who winners were. I did enter an open art competition and the winner 🏆 was announced today.  I wondered why any of us bothered, here's the winner... The judges obviously liked this but I would say that 80/100 of the other entries were more deserving imo of being prize winners but that's just my opinion. 🧐

I’ve noticed that the winners aren’t flagged up any more - hardly a competition as Marjorie has alluded to, because the very obvious answer is in the copy or the image itself! However, it only takes several seconds to enter, your derails are already stored with POL, and I did win a very nice Royal Talens wooden box filled with oils etc a few years ago.
I'm of your opinion Cordelia.
I never bother with those question type competitions. There doesn't seem to be any interesting competitions since dear Dawn left.
Speaking of competitions, I do miss the open competitions, of various sorts, that used to be a feature of the POL site.
Yes a lot of good things not covered anymore since Dawn left. It’s a great pity. But there is one thing i greatly miss but decline to put it here. If you are interested in knowning please send me a message. Thank you

John G, you are a man of mystery.  I am intrigued.  I think that we have a fair amount of freedom on the Forum, so we could introduce features of our own: indeed, that's basically what the indefatigable Dixie D has done: and very successful his innovation has been.  We all miss Dawn - I used to enjoy corresponding with her on moderating questions; she was always discreet  and avoided criticizing people = FAR more than I ever was.  I don't propose that we can really replace her; I don't think we can - but we could try.  So if you have ideas, why not propose them?
John - I've now 'followed' you: so you can put me out of my misery (metaphorically speaking, obviously; I'm FAR too young to die).
Robert, we can’t replace Dawn. It’s one of those shoot yourself in the foot situations.
