Hi Folks,
I am returning from a long hospital/rehabilitation stay. I have now made headway and I can start working on my paintings again. Five years caring for my Lady who has Parkinson's and Dementia, and is now in full care. A few months I caught an infection called cellulitis. (Nothing to do with cellulite BTW!) This was a skin infection that attacked my artificial knees and took me off my feet. Thus I need to practice with my brushes somewhat!
I am still struggling to walk without an aid, but I don't need that to paint, so I am furthering progress by working again! ( I even managed some light woodwork, using a 'perching stool' at my bench!) So I am hoping to add to my gallery, and get around the site for inspiration.
Cheers Folks
John

Thanks to you all folks. Just cleaned the pastel dust off my fingers. I had to pick them up after the home help dropped a brand new box on the floor. He was most upset about it, and wanted to pay for a new box! I resisted the temptation, and told him they get broken on purpose in use anyway! Also I think he might have blanched at the price of a 36 piece box of Unison pastels!
I decided to revisit pastel first as I don't use them as often as I should. Also there is an immediacy about pastel and a freshness which, with care, remains from the day the painting is started, for the rest of its life. Plus all you need are the pastels, a sheet of paper, and a bit of masking tape. No fuss, just start painting. So there you go. Pastel it is to get me back in the groove!
Thanks again folks.
Happy Painting and drawing
John
