Just received a BIG pack of wc pencils from a seller hereon and had my first bash: copying a photograph I took a few years ago. I must say that I am initially impressed by the ease with which application can be controlled - which is great because it meant I was able to concentrate on form! I have posted the result of my first scribblings in gallery - not because it's great but because I am happy with it! And I enjoyed making it...and you lot have convinced me that that's what counts! Thank you dear friends! D
I'll go and look in a mo - but just wanted to say well done for having a go with the w/c pencils, and I'm pleased that you're pleased! Because that's half the battle - enjoying what you're doing, and trying new things. I'd like, if possible, to add another 20 years (30 would be better...) to my life, so that I could try the things I've kept meaning to try but haven't - casein painting; tempera; block printing (did it at school, but wish I'd kept it up); and I WILL get round to silverpoint again, at some point (always given I'm Spared, of course....). However experienced we think ourselves, there's always more - mind you, being able to afford the materials is no small part of all this. But whatever you do, enjoy it - what's the point otherwise?
