This is a painting from the Digital Gallery on my Website. It dates from the time before I bought an iPad. So I was using Painter13 on a laptop connected to a Wacom graphics tablet. I started with a pencil drawing in an A4 cartridge sketchbook. This was redrawn into a digital file in Painter using the Wacom tablet and stylus.The painting was built up onscreen using three flat 'bristle' brushes. I'm not making a direct comparison with Ken Howard's or Peter Brown's work. Though they both produce lovely freely drawn oil sketches so if you are familiar with their work you may trace an influence.Painter is a more powerful program than any of the tablet apps and I'm pleased with soft treatment in the sky and how it's possible to overpaint with transparent brush strokes.
